Running dor (ڈور) cuts fingers, a loose line across a road can catch a rider's neck, and a roof is a long way from help. For Basant 2027 we plan to stock finger guards, cut-resistant gloves, neck guards for riders, safety goggles and a rooftop first-aid kit, which every kite-flying location must keep. Motorcycles must also carry a safety rod at least 1 metre high.

Rooftops used for kite flying must have walls or grills at least 3.5 feet high and be structurally sound, and every location must keep a first-aid kit. Owners must finish safety work by 30 December 2026, and unsafe rooftops are banned outright. Building owners and organisers are responsible for any accident. Overcrowding, loud music, DJ systems and aerial firing are banned, and gatherings above the permitted number need an NOC.

Five items that guard against the most common Basant injuries: finger guards, cut-resistant gloves, a neck guard for riders, safety goggles and a rooftop first-aid kit.
Unlike kites and dor, safety gear keeps from one Basant to the next, so it is worth buying well once. Each item below does one job, and the sections that follow explain exactly what that job is and how to choose.
Protects fingers from running string.
For handling string and clearing stray lines.
A second layer for motorcyclists, on top of the safety rod.
Keeps grit and snapping string away from eyes.
Dressings for cuts, antiseptic, gloves and a printed Rescue 1122 card.
Yes: even legal cotton dor burns and cuts skin when it runs fast through your fingers, in a pecha (پیچا) or a sudden gust.
Because a loose string across a road sits at neck height for a rider, and a neck guard adds a second layer on top of the required safety rod.
In permitted areas every motorcycle must carry an approved safety rod at least 1 metre high, mounted at the front to catch a line before it reaches the rider. A neck guard covers what the rod can miss: string that drops at an angle, or a line you ride into while turning. Wrap it snugly and keep it on for the whole ride, not just on main roads.
Yes: you spend hours looking up, and goggles keep grit and a snapping line away from your eyes.
A line that snaps under tension can whip back towards the flyer, and on a windy roof dust blows straight into upturned faces. Clear goggles that fit over spectacles are the most useful choice, because evening flying needs clear lenses too.
Dressings and bandages for cuts, antiseptic, disposable gloves and the Rescue 1122 number, kept in sight with one adult in charge of it.
Every kite-flying location must keep a first-aid kit for Basant 2027, and our planned rooftop kit is built around this list. If someone is cut, call Rescue 1122, press a clean cloth firmly on the wound and keep pressing until help arrives.
Keep children watching from well back, never flying: under-18s were barred from flying kites in 2026, and parents are legally responsible for their safety.
Give one adult the job of watching the children, away from the roof edge and from running dor. Keep spare string and finger guards out of reach, and never send a child to fetch a kite from a neighbour's roof or the street.
We open orders for safety gear together with kites and dor, while we hold a Punjab seller certificate and the sales window is open; the box below shows where we stand.
Our rooftop safety guide and motorcycle safety guide cover what to prepare before the festival, whoever you buy from.

Yes. Every kite-flying location must keep a first-aid kit, along with walls or grills at least 3.5 feet high.
Call Rescue 1122 at once, press a clean cloth firmly on the wound and keep pressing, and keep the person still until help arrives.
No glove makes string harmless. Gloves and finger guards reduce cuts, but the real protection is legal cotton dor, a clear roof and a careful flyer.
